These Terms &Conditions govern the services offered by Aventure Canoës, a company specialising in canoe and kayak rental in the Ardèche.
 

1. Company information

The company offers canoe and kayak trips on the Ardèche River, including shuttle transport.

2. Purpose

  • These Terms &conditions define the conditions under which Aventure Canoës provides canoe/kayak rental services, shuttle transport, and related activities.
  • Any booking implies full acceptance of these Terms &Conditions.

3. Services offered

Aventure Canoës offers various canoe and kayak trips on the Ardèche River, including:
  • Discovery routes
  • Half-day routes
  • Full-day routes
  • Two-day routes

Depending on the chosen package, services may include:
  • Equipment rental
  • Approved life jacket
  • Waterproof container
  • Paddles
  • Shuttle transport
  • Safety briefing
Route details, schedules, and prices are available on the website and may change without prior notice.
 

4. Participation conditions

Mandatory requirements

To take part in a trip, each participant must:
  • Be able to swim at least 25 metres
  • Be over 7 years old (unless accompanied by a certified instructor)
  • Be able to fully immerse themselves in water
  • Wear the provided life jacket at all times
  • Follow the safety instructions given by the team

Minors remain under the sole responsibility of their parents or accompanying adults.

Aventure Canoës reserves the right to refuse participation to anyone displaying dangerous behaviour, intoxication, or failure to comply with safety instructions.


5. Booking


Bookings can be made:
  • Online via the website
  • By phone
  • On-site
  • Through approved partners

A booking becomes valid once payment or a deposit (if required) has been received.

Aventure Canoës reserves the right to cancel or refuse any booking in cases of force majeure, safety concerns, or unavailability.

6. Prices

  • Displayed prices are in euros (€), VAT included.
  • Prices include only the services specified in the selected package.
  • Prices may change at any time without prior notice, but booked services will be charged according to the rate in effect at the time of booking.
 

7. Payment


Payment can be made:
  • By credit card
  • In cash
  • Using ANCV holiday vouchers
  • By bank transfer upon prior agreement
Full payment may be required before departure.

In case of payment refusal or banking issues, the booking may be cancelled.


8. Cancellation and refunds

Cancellation by the customer

Any cancellation request must be made in writing.

The following conditions apply:
  • More than 7 days before the trip: refund possible excluding possible booking fees
  • Between 7 days and 48 hours before the trip: deposit retained
  • Less than 48 hours before the trip: no refund
  • No-show: no refund
 

Weather conditions

Trips are maintained in variable or cloudy weather.

However, Aventure Canoës may cancel a trip for safety reasons related to:
  • Storms
  • Flooding
  • Official prefectural restrictions
  • Dangerous navigation conditions
In such cases, a reschedule or refund may be offered.
 

9. Delays and schedules

  • Customers must arrive at the time indicated during booking.
  • In case of significant delay, Aventure Canoës cannot guarantee the activity will be maintained.
  • Return shuttles operate on fixed schedules.
  • Any customer delay at the meeting point may result in additional waiting time.
 

10. Use of equipment


All rented equipment is considered to be provided in good condition.

Customers agree to:
  • Use the equipment properly
  • Follow safety instructions
  • Return the equipment at the end of the activity
  • Report any damage or incident
Any abnormal damage, loss, or theft of equipment may be charged to the customer.
 


11. Liability

Customer responsibility


Customers participate in the activity at their own risk.

They are responsible for:
  • Their physical condition
  • Following instructions
  • Their personal belongings
  • Damage caused by their own actions
Personal belongings carried during the trip remain under the customer’s responsibility, including when stored in waterproof containers.

 

Aventure Canoës responsibility

Aventure Canoës cannot be held liable for:
  • Improper use of equipment
  • Failure to follow safety instructions
  • Loss, damage, or theft of personal belongings
  • Incidents caused by customer behaviour
  • Force majeure events
 

12. Safety and regulations


Participants agree to comply with:
  • Navigation regulations
  • Environmental rules
  • Protected areas of the Ardèche Gorges Nature Reserve
  • Other river users

The following are strictly prohibited:
  • Leaving litter
  • Damaging the environment
  • Navigating without a life jacket
  • Consuming illegal substances during the activity
 

13. Insurance


Aventure Canoës holds professional liability insurance.

This insurance does not cover:
  • Intentional damage
  • Customers’ personal belongings
  • Accidents caused by failure to follow instructions
Customers are responsible for checking their own personal insurance coverage.
 

14. Image rights

  • As part of its activities, Aventure Canoës may take photographs or videos for promotional purposes.
  • Unless the customer objects in writing before the activity, Aventure Canoës may use these materials on its social media, website, or communication materials.
 

15. Personal data protection

  • Information collected during bookings is used solely for managing services.
  • In accordance with GDPR regulations, customers have the right to access, modify, and delete their personal data.

16. Disputes and applicable law

  • These Terms &Conditions are governed by French law.
  • In case of dispute, the parties will seek an amicable solution before any legal action.
  • Failing amicable agreement, jurisdiction will fall to the courts covering the registered office of Aventure Canoës.
 

17. Acceptance of the terms &conditions

  • Customers acknowledge having read the safety instructions and participation requirements before departure.
  • Booking a service with Aventure Canoës implies full and unconditional acceptance of these Terms &Conditions.
